The Mulkerrin Brothers win The All Ireland Talent Show

Posted this video on Youtube earlier this evening after watching the show

Can’t say I’ve been following it every week, but when I saw little Jack Lynch doing his hip hop at the audition I figured he was going to emerge as the winner. He came second to the Mulkerrin Brothers who represented the West of Ireland under mentor Daithi O’Se.

3 talented brothers from an Island off the West Coast are €50,000 richer tonight and long may they continue to keep traditional Irish music and dance alive.

About the Author

I blog at lecraic.com about random things – mostly with an Irish flavour. I Photoshop by day to make a crust, and sometimes Photoshop at night for the blog.

I am a fan of books – I love collecting and reading them with a slight preference for non fiction (business, biographies, current affairs). Some children had “blankies” as pacifiers – I had my “Billy Doran” book that went everywhere with me – even though I was too young to read at the time.

I like the rest of culchur as well as books – like films n’ things.

Look, fair play to the three lads. They’re very talented, but this is supposed to be The All Ireland Talent Show. Is that honestly the best we have? Really?

Seems like a stupid show – glad I was too busy to see any of it.

    Someone actually watched this?!

  3. NaRocRoc says:

The makers went for this parish hall type set up and they ended up with the talent to match. They should be brought to book for false advertising. All Ireland Talent Show me arse.

I don’t think there was a huge pool to choose from in the auditions – Dublin had 500 for example. so the answer is no, this isn’t the best talent that Ireland has – no more than the breakdancing guy that won Britain’s Got Talent.

It got huge ratings, up to 700k, so there is an audience for this type of stuff early on a Sunday evening.

I thought Bert & Victor, the busking twins were amazing for their age.

I thought the whole results part was a farce, going from 6th place right down to 1st, I think they should have kept the show going for another couple of weeks till they were left with 3.

I don’t think the demand is their, our country is too small to run an X-Factor type show. That said it’s coming back for a second series, certainly got the ratings RTÉ were looking for.
