1Hand Job Films - Dirty Music Videos
There are simply too many quality gigs happening in Dublin, you can’t get to all of them, sometimes you hear about them too late, or tickets sell out too fast… in steps our hero, Conor from Hand Job Films. I first spotted him filming The Thermals gig back in June and went in search for the videos on Youtube the following week. The results allowed me to really relive that gig all over again. The same goes for the recent amazing Pixies gig in the Olympia.
The videos collected of past gigs are like a cross between official live footage and audience uploads. A perfect combo to make you feel like you were there in the crowd.
In a perfect world everyone in a gig audience would have the steady hand, equipment and talent of Conor, in this inperfect world at least we can rely on one guy to keep going to fantastic gigs and reporting back from them with high quality video.
He has even posted a video of David Lovering from the Pixies doing Magic in the International Bar, hoping to see more comedy videos in the near future. Speaking of future - from what I’ve read on his LastFM page it looks like he’ll be at Sonic Youth, Kevin Smith, The Mars Volta and Henry Rollins.
You can keep up to date with his video uploads by subscribing to his Youtube channel , becoming his fan on Facebook (go on! he still needs a vanity url!) or following him on Twitter.
Though he’s been hard at it for a while, without Conor’s videos this year would have been much more of a whimper than the out-and-out banger we’ve enjoyed. Sometimes we can’t get to every gig but you know there’ll be some great footage to catch up on if Conor was there. It’s nice to see I’m not the only one who appreciates all the deadly footage he’s built up. More of this kind of thing, I say!
