3Name the movies - for the sincere movie nerds
Give this a go.
An easy one, yes? Fancy giving some others a go?
These, the ones below and more are all done by a very talented illustrator called Paul Rodgers and are his Name that Movie posts.
There’s six stylized drawings per film and it’s a brilliant, maddening test of what you remember from a movie - I don’t think you could do it if you hadn’t seen it. The art itself is beautiful - pen drawings are always among my favourites and I think the tribute that he’s made to the classics is quite appropriate.
Some I got straight away - some I struggled with. How’d you get on? Don’t forget to show your appreciation to the man himself on his website.
Aha - this is one for me…
Citizen Kane
Taxi Driver
Some Like it Hot
Oh! Brother Where Art Thou
The 39 Steps (coming to the Olympia Theatre)
The Day the Earth Stood Still (Am I right? That’s a tough one)
Pulp Fiction
Titanic
Is the last one The Wizard of Oz, or some other Oz film at least?
*bows to your knowledge*
You should have a look at his other ones. Some I had no clue of but should have gotten!
I got all of them except the 39 steps, which I’ve never seen. And the last one too. Is it ‘Something Wicked This Way Comes’??
When I was trying to do them first I kept was thinking ‘why do all the films look like they are Citizen Kane…and then I cottoned on it was 6 pics per film…doh.
