The JD Set 2011 : Tickets are free!
‘Free Gig’ I hear you exclaim? Not just any gig mind you. The Jack Daniels Set 2011. The gig, which is free to successful ticket applicants, will feature Neil Hannon, Cathy Davey and Jape. In an interesting twist they will be collaborating to re-imagine Vampire Weekend’s debut album. The gig is scheduled for Friday April 1st.
Hannon, Davey and Vampire Weekend are three artists most beholden to me and the idea of this gig excites me greatly. Much love for Richie ‘Jape’ Egan too but the aforementioned are particular long-time squeezes of mine.
Anyway enough of my rambling and to the knitty-gritty. We are lead to believe that tickets will be available via http://thejdset.ie from Feb 1st So we’ll hopefully see you there!
Edit 03/02/11: With some confusion over how ticket allocation will work, here’s some clarification from the folks behind The JD Set:
“There seemed to be a bit of confusion yesterday about how the free tickets were being distributed after 50 pairs of tickets were snapped up yesterday afternoon. We will be giving away further tickets over the next 4 to 5 weeks and this is how….
If you weren’t one of the lucky 50 who snapped up a pair of tickets to the JD Set Dublin on www.thejdset.ie, don’t worry as there are three more chances to win coming up! There will be 100 pairs of tickets made exclusively available to Friends Of Jack at the start of March – so click on the Friends of Jack tab to be the first to hear when they become available! There will be a website draw to win 1 of another 50 pairs of free tickets, so register any time until the middle of March on www.thejdset.ie. There will be at least another 75 pairs of tickets exclusive to Facebook fans throughout March”

seems to have disappeared again????
@James all 50 tickets got snapped up yesterday around 2pm ish with not much notice. We’ve been assured there will be more ways to try and get tickets soon though. Hopefully with more notice next time. I know a lot of people failed to get them and left a bit disappointed including myself! Keep an eye on the JDset.ie and the Jack Daniels Ireland Facebook page for more info. Fingers crossed buddy!
