0Festivals: Body and Soul 2012
Villagers you say? Oh and M83? Well it’s only the ruddy Body and Soul festival! That what? The Body&Soul festival. Keep up! Started 3 years ago the festival has bounded and leapt from strength to cliché. This year sees the Uber-cool Summer Solstice-based festival return with their best line-up to-date. Don’t take our word for it (we’ll shut our dirty lying mouths) but the good folks at Body& Soul are definitely to be trusted with a line-up announcement as good as this. Who couldn’t help but love ’em?
M83, Villagers, St. Vincent, Little Dragon and Tieranniesaur are amongst the fifteen acts announced today with more to come!
With the inevitable vacuum left in Oxegen’s departure from the festival circuit for this year, it is definitely the year for the smaller festivals to grow their audiences and Body&Soul is definitely in for a bumper year. Tickets usually sell out fast to this 3000 capacity weekend of music and spills but are likely to fly out even faster this year.
Much like a little sister to Electric Picnic should be, the festival is not just about the music. It’s the experience. To try explaining that to someone who’s never been to Body&Soul is incredibly difficult though. Just trust us. (We’re not just shooting off our dirty lying mouths, promise.)
Here’s what else to expect:
Dancing under the Stars. Sparkling Conversations in the Hot Tub. Gramophone Grooves. Acoustic Sessions. Cutting Edge Electronica. Marshmallows on a Bonfire. Pop-up Performances. Lantern Lit Pathways. Reviving Massage. Disco Yurts ‘till Dawn. Masks. Fantastic Fireworks. Candlelit Opera. Four-Poster Picnics. Light spectaculars. Costumes. Impromptu Parties in the Woodlands. Leisurely Lakeside Breakfasts.
Taking place the weekend of June 22nd , the Body&Soul festival occupies Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath
Tickets are up for grabs on http://bodyandsoul.ie and come in a range of options from Sunday passes for €55 and weekend passes for €99 – definitely more bang for your buck there.
