Theatre tip: The Good Father

The Good Father

I’m a big fan of the axis Theatre in Ballymun. They’re a fantastic asset to the community in the area and I’ve had some brilliant nights there (Jason Byrne’s live comedy gig last week being a particular stand out). So when I heard they were debuting ‘The Good Father’, a new production starring Emmet Kirwan (who you might have seen in Just Saying) and Nyree Yergainharsian this month, I knew I’d be going and should flag it for others.

Set in Dublin, ‘The Good Father’ follows Tim (Kirwan) and Jane (Yergainharsian) from a random encounter at a New Year’s Eve party through a life changing year. It’s all about being messed up, knocked up, and fed up in the eternal quest to be loved up. Written by Christian O’Reilly and directed by Mark O’Brien it runs from Monday 9th to Saturday 21st March @ 8pm. Tickets are €15/12 and there’s a number of deals over on axis’ site. I’ll definitely be seeing this one and would urge you too. We’ll post a review later in the month.
