Events: Tara Flynn @ The Workman’s Club December 7th

Tara Flynn is delighted to be bringing her solo show of stand up and songs to The Workman’s Club.

She is perhaps best known for her recent TV work: The Omid Djalili Show, The Impressions Show with Culshaw & Stephenson and the BAFTA nominated first series of Stewart Lee’s Comedy Vehicle. On Irish screens, you’ll have come across her in Stew, The Panel and Soupy Norman (to name but 3).

Having been a founder-member of The Nualas a million years ago, Tara went on to join Dublin Comedy Improv and also to perform stand-up all over Ireland and Britain and at international comedy festivals including Edinburgh Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival. She created the role of Surfia in the smash hit musical I, Keano at the Olympia Theatre and has done more voice work than you can shake a stick at (she’s the voice on the o2 network who tells you ‘you have no new messages’, don’t you know).

Tara

Tara has just moved back to Ireland after 5 years in London. At a time when everyone else seemed to be leaving the sinking ship, she wanted to buck the trend. Besides, she’d found a husband, so she felt it was time. She’s delighted to be home, and can’t think of a better way to welcome herself back than to throw a party at The Workmans Club, along with special guest Eleanor Tiernan. Everyone’s invited, so see you there.

With already rave reviews from the likes of the Edinburgh Guide: “An almost unmatched ability to put an audience at its ease…a sparkling wit…surreal riffs and a wonderfully soulful and rich vocal range…comedically masterful material.” this seems like a show not to be missed!
