11Be part of a massive Bollywood dance scene in Dublin
Think you could do this dance?
If so, fancy being part of Ireland’s first Bollywood movie, being filmed in central Dublin on Sunday April 19? There’s an epic, Slumdog Millionaire-type dancing ending involving 150 dancing extras that you could be part of!
Fishfilms are producing a five minute Bollywood-style short film under the Irish Film Board ‘Short Shorts’ Programme.
The story follows Baba , an Indian convenience store worker who falls for an Irish ‘property type’ girl who buys her lunch in the shop where he works.
Baba chases the girl in all singing all dancing Bollywood fashion and the film’s climax is an epic Bollywood style routine involving 150 dancing Dubliners.
This is a first in terms of a home grown Bollywood style film production so let’s hope it causes quite a stir. Musicians Cormac Breslin and Declan Quinn from Republic of Loose are the musical directors with choreography by hip hop champion Donking Rongavilla (from recent Ballet Chancers RTE series).
The film will premiere at the Cork International Film Festival in October so here’s your chance to make your big screen debut. There’s no money to be made but there’s shapes to be thrown and moves a plenty as shown in the video.
Learn the moves as best you can, don’t sweat it about remembering the order, there’ll be plenty of instruction given on the day which is about four hours shooting.
If you’d like to take part, please forward on your details - your name, phone number, playing age and dance ability - to [email protected]. Of course if you know anyone, tell them about it too! I’m practising my moves. What about you?
done.
And done.
Cool.
I’m in.
I don’t dance, unless I’m ridiculously drunk…have fun though 🙂
Oh I’ll be in Chicago, oh well. HAHAHA.
I changed my mind…I so want to do this now. Have emailed, fingers crossed they still need people!
@Claire - Yay! Was it my super mega Russian dancing that changed your mind?
@Lottie - Mostly.
Also was thinking, how many times do you get to do something like this? And I shall regret it if I don’t try it.
Mostly it was your Russian dancing skills though.
