I Once Was Lost But Now I Am Found

AKA The positive post about Lost

LostWhen Lost first aired all those years ago, I had no interest. I watched maybe two episodes from the first series and didn’t see the point of watching a bunch of far-too-pretty people do the Swiss Family Robinson thing. It was the second season that grabbed my attention - the what-the-frack nature of the show really appealed to me. I likened it to Twin Peaks.

Series 3 and 4 lost (no pun intended) their way a bit, but with the whole time travel aspect of the new season has me gripped. Each episode reveals so much about past stories, while opening up a whole bunch of new mind-blowing questions. I know the show gets a lot of bad press for being two seasons longer than it should, for playing up the love polygon too much and for stringing the viewer along, but I have faith. I think years after the show is finished, people will look back on it as an important piece of TV. The promise, from show’s creators Abrams and Lindelof, of an epic conclusion and great final payoff is enough to give me faith in the show.

So, are you still watching, or has the show Lost the plot?

Still a pretty decent show…this season definitely one of the best….it just got better when they set an actual end date to it!!

I watched the pilot episode but missed the next 2 weeks so I never continued but from reading what you’re saying - maybe the boxsets are the way to go and stick the episodes on the iPhone to watch when travelling.

I totally agree with the ‘Totally Lost’ post. It’s because of sheer dedication to the first couple of series, which were excellent, that I’m still watching. But every week I sigh and threaten to give up!
