Eurovision Song Contest 2009

The Eurovision is something very close to Ireland’s hearts seen as we have won it 7 times, but in recent years its lucky if we even qualify, and when we do we end up near the bottom, and having to qualify again the following year.

Gone are the days that decent songs win, and the show being based on talent, but now its political voting and what not, you vote for us, we vote for you.

I like many others still love the Eurovision, but with Terry Wogan being replaced by Graham Norton on the BBC, and Marty Whelan as usual on RTE, I think we’d all be better off commentating on it ourselves.

The first of two semi-finals is on next Tuesday, with the other one being on Thursday, which is the one Ireland, and Sinéad Mulvey & Black Daisy take part in.

Depending on what the interest is like would anyone be up for a liveblog of the Final, and if there is interest the semi finals too?

Leave a comment here if your interested, and I’ll have a word with the boss and see what he says.
