I think Niall Harbison pointed out that the X-Factor the Irish have is charm. And “I Don’t Know” is charming. It feels like you are eavesdropping on someone’s thought process during a crush. You fancy them, but can’t quite verbalise it to them (If you walk with me, I will keep my head), but somehow it sounds more like Lisa trying to persuade herself rather than talking to the object of her affection. Then again I suspect that is someone passing that catches the eye.

The problem with charm like this is that it eventually rubs off and reveals something irritating underneath. Fortunately for Lisa Hanningan, she doesn’t reach that point.

Its a yes from me.

Oddly this some has two videos. No idea why there are two completely different videos, with completely different vibes. The first one if the official music video.

While the second video was recorded in Dick Mac’s Pub in Dingle when the band were on holidays, but with some improvised instruments. Personally I’m surprised that anyone could play a newspaper as a drum, but Tommo seems to have succeeded. This one seems to be the Canadian and US one.

    I have to say I love this song since I saw her live in Dun Laoghaire at the Festival of World Cultures last year, I hadn’t seen the first video though. Strange to have two alright.
    Lisa has a beautiful voice, love listening to her.

    It’s my favourite Lisa song. Real pick me up. I listen to it at least once a week. Lovely voice, lovely sentiment, lovely lovely woman.

    I’d be 99 percent sure thats from when they were on Other Voices last year, playing the church in Dingle. Is that the official video for the North America release?? Bleh, its incredible either way.

    It just comes across as sweetness itself.

    rdlp715, its unlikely to be from Other Voices, as that’s a concert performance is a single venue, a converted church. The general location right be right.

    As for the official US video.. not sure. I just know that its dong the rounds on the US sites.
