Get the Gúna

Admittedly this is one for the ladies so apologies for freezing out half the Culch audience, but it’s for charidee! News has just reached me of the Buy My Dress event at the Royal College of Physicians on Kildare Street from 10am to 9pm today (June 11th).

Calling themselves Ireland’s largest one-day charity dress sale, the good people at Buy My Dress are facilitating the desire for a nice recessionary shop that’s within us all. The theory is simple. Bring along a dress you don’t want anymore but which is still good ‘n’ saleable, and donate it (proceeds of the event going to a Downs Syndrome charity). While you’re there, have a goo at the gúnas and pick yourself up some new-to-you threads.

They say it’s for all ages, shapes and sizes so it sounds like it’s definitely worth a look. And just in case you didn’t know, it’s very acceptable to use the fact that it’s for charity to offset your shopping guilt. Win. guna

Oh I have a fab red Monsoon 50′s style dress that would work well for this. It no longer fits me sadly and just depresses me when I see it hanging in the closet. So it’s a win win situation really.
