Well two PR agents actually.
Fans of MTV’s The Hills will be happy to know that a new reality tv programme began filming in Dublin earlier this week in a very similar style. Following four models and two PR agents to locations such as Krystle nightclub, VIP magazine offices on Ely Place, Brown Thomas department store and a number of high-profile restaurants around town, producers are aiming to make a pilot episode in anticipation of a full series being made.
If successful, those who bagged the coveted parts could find themselves known on an international level as well as here, with plans to take the show overseas by having it aired on MTV in Britain.
Among those involved with the production of the show is David Coffey, the man behind satirical comedy series Dan and Becs, who both starred in and wrote the popular programme.
The pilot series has not been given a name yet, but producers are said to be looking for something which sums up living in an affluent Dublin suburb.
A number of familiar faces will be popping up on the show, with some of Dublin’s well known catwalk queens lined up to take part. A set insider explained: “There are four models and two PR girls in it.
“They’re taken from a few different agencies including First Option, Compton and Rogue Model Management.
“Ironically, they all have boyfriends already — but I’m sure the producers will still manage to cause some drama around it.
“There will be plenty of tears, tantrums and back-stabbing and the whole thing is scripted just like the original show,” they added.

So…I’m on the edge of my seat already, how about you?
What would make it infinitely more entertaining would be if they steered away from the “affluent Dublin suburb(s)” and did something a bit more like this:
Full story here.
I think I’ll throw my tv away!
I reckon it’ll be a bit of crack - sure what harm, your man did well satirising the Southside before, so I reckon it’ll be interesting at the very least.
Not everything can be high brow and full on, sometimes you need some light relief?
I’m going to put my TV in a box, put the box into a car, drive the car over a cliff…
@Susanae High brow TV is hard to come by these days. The majority of TV programming is lowest common denominator pap. Reality TV, American comedy imports, vapid entertainment shows……I love TV and I watch a lot of ‘crap’, but this thing sounds seriously dodgy. Maybe if it doesn’t take itself too seriously and doesn’t follow the tired formats of its predecessors, it might work.
Yeah but that’s what I mean Darren, I just HIGHLY doubt it’ll be able to take itself seriously…it’s a bit of frippery, and I just can’t see how you could market it any other way.
I do agree that there is more pap than brilliance on tv,but I also think we in Ireland just aren’t as in o Irish shows as much as we’re into American shows, but the South side of Dublin seems to be removed from Ireland somehow so I’ll be watching. I consider these kind of shows the Danielle Steele’s of the tv world - a bit of harmless fun.
Now if the girls on the show make out that it’s anything more than some pretty clothes and a bit of drama, then I’ll be the first to slap them - especially if ANYONE mentions ‘world peace.’
Longest comment ever, but I do love the Hills, so I’m fervently hoping…
Christian - no need for the dramatics! Just don’t turn it on for a while
Susanae - it’ll be interesting to see how it’s done alright, and as you say it’s just simple frippery. Not the kind of thing I normally watch but the fact that it’s so close to home will have me tuning in to see who these people are. Probably just for the pilot
Darren - you know you’ll love it, if you can stomach Big Brother there is nowhere to go but up It’ll be interesting that’s for sure.
“Ironically, they all have boyfriends already — but I’m sure the producers will still manage to cause some drama around it.”
Why ironic?
“There are four models and two PR girls in it.”
That’s a funny sentence.
Oh dead God no.
Ah well, as long as they don’t put up some of the usual suspects I suppose….
