The Comedy Carnival kicked off in style last night in the Iveagh Gardens with random performers, a big beautiful band and a whole load of comedians. I’ve already heard some great reviews of Des Bishop, David O’Doherty, Jason Byrne and Apres Match and there’s loads more still to come.
I’m going to see Bo Burnham, D. O’D. and Andrew Stanley this evening. I’m looking forward to getting a full tour of the gorgeous Iveagh Gardens tomorrow with Eric Lalor. And on Sunday I’ll be hanging around the Gardens for the day (weather permitting) while the stars of Whose Line is it Anyway, PJ Gallagher, Todd Barry, Colin Murphy, Neil Delamere, Ardal O’Hanlon, Des Bishop, Tim Minchin, Colm O’Regan and many many others perform their shows. I am particularly looking forward to Shane Langan’s Not Also But Only show at 6pm on Sunday. Check out the Comedy Carnival website for a full programme.

Was anyone at the comedy show that David McSavage was M.C.ing on Saturday night (carlsberg comedy carnival) Neil Hamburger and another American guy whom I can’t remember were on the bill.
It was the worst comedy show I have ever witnessed, Hamburger was brutal, the other guy totally forgetable and McSavage needs to write some new material….waste of time and money..
@Gerry Well, I wouldn’t be a fan of McSavage at the best of times, but I heard some awful reports on this gig. Apparently Hamburger was brutal.
