I went on Saturday 1st August. It cost a tenner. The crowd can be no more than about 80 so it’s extremely intimate. I liked it. That €10 by the way included 4 comedians and an MC.
The 4 comedians were Andrew Stanley, Paddy Mc Gaughey, Colum Mc Donnell and James Morris. I didn’t get any pics of Andrew on stage. There’s a story to that….? Andrew will probably tell it at the Fringe Festival
I thought it was a genius night. People were being turned away at the door. Which is a great sign. Not so great for those who couldn’t get in. That said, Nice place. Nice people. Great comedians. Who could ask for more. I loved it. The guys are on facebook as well so take a look and say hello. Or just drop by on the night.
Of course I also got to ask Paddy Mc Gaughey my 10 green questions:
and after Colm’s set he and fellow comedian joined me for more of the same. At this point I would like to apologise for the Rod Stewart music playing in the backround…. After that genius stuff. enjoy!
Many thanks to Peter O’ Byrne who organised my meeting with Paddy and Colm.
been to every comedy club in dublin city at some time or another and have to say.. I’m not crazy about bankers as a venue tbh. no reflection on the comedians, but the shape of the room makes it not a great place when it’s full. and it fills fast.
that said, I have seen some great acts there - including Eric lawlor and Bernard o’Shea
I’m looking forward to your investigations of every club in town now Peter
…….that be every *comedy* club
me and the wham/ fame gear don’t really go together too well
I’m looking forward to seeing you up on stage with your rousing call.
Stop me when that gets old…
will. never. grow. old.
*downs another bottle of olay/ ulay stuff*
especially for you
