I’m watching and I know where you live.
I’ve got a ticket with your name on it.
000OOO000
Guess the movie -
- This was the first ever Disney feature available on DVD
- Originally released in 1940
- Mel Blanc voiced characters in the film, then his work was left out of the final cut. This was one of two times he had ever worked for Disney. The other time being on “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?“
- It was the second of Disney’s feature films to use the rotoscoping technique
I fear I’ve said too much already.
I’m not lying when I say I know the answer, but it’s only because I recently researched it as part of our top 5 animated cartoons post.
Incidentally, congratulations on writing the 900th Culch.ie post.
“Hmm, well, uh, I don’t know where he’s not”
@Niall Congratulations. You have just written the 4,500th comment on Culch.ie.
I love stats.
So there was exactly 50 times as many comments as there was posts. I like maths!
I like Lamp.
No hang on, that’s wrong isn’t it?
Before Darragh can come in, I’m gonna say that it’s Coffee and Cigarettes.
Um. Toy Story?
I love how everyone’s getting cagey on these yokes.
Wait. 1940? Not Toy Story then.
Scarleh!
That fine political polemic; Dumbo
They rotoscoped the elephant flying.
@niall 900 posts and 4500 comments means an average of 5 comments per post.
Becareful maths skills like yours and you’ll end up in nama
Nobody’s guessed it yet?
I’d say Pinnochio coz it was next after Snow White and i think they used rotoscoping for it
@Cathal I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that.
@Colonel Popcorn Check out where my quote comes from. I was playing coy.
I think it may be Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The Mel Blanc bit is scaring me a bit though.
I am pretty sure it was the first DVD released by Disney as I remember a big advertising campaign at the time for it.
Damn though - Mel Blanc? hmmmm Google tempts me so please answer soon!
By jiminy, it’s as plain as the nose on your face.
Damn it - Pinocchio - really?
Who did he do? The cat? The fish?
@Peter Disney decided at a late stage to mute the cat, save for the occasional hiccup. So, Blanc got paid his usual rate even though all we hear of him is a hiccup.
Well now there is a bit of movie trivia I have never heard! So like he must be one of the highest paid voice actors ever (per word) I knew he didn’t speak so it threw me.
Good mystery damn it
Niall:
I knew where the quotes were from, but I needed to hear the words!!
Yes it is Pinnochio!
I figured the Mel Blanc bit would throw one or two people.
You’re all too good at this. I have to work at it now…
