    Personally I wouldn’t have the Velvet Underground in my top 5. They are good but not better than the Rolling Stones, the Who, the Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

    I wouldn’t say The Beatles were the best band of all time. I’d put the Rolling Stones ahead of them. I reckon the reason the Beatles are considered the best band of all time is because they were one of the first bands to get as much notice and publicity. Without TV, would the Beatles have been as popular?

    If you take away all the hyperbole and and album/singles sales and all the other bullshit that surrounds music I honestly believe that song for song the Beatles have never and will never be matched. The beauty of music however is it’s absolute subjectivity and the fact that there is no actual greatest band of all time. There is no way to determine it so all we have are our opinions and who for each of us is our greatest band of all time.

    Oh I wouldn’t put VU in my top 100, never mind top 5.

    George Harrison would be in my top 5 guitarists though. Man is a legend. Lennon gets too much credit.
