You may have noticed that we’re very busy little Culchies in here these days. But with so many posts and so little time we appreciate that you are busy too. So now, each week we will bring you the Culch.ie Catch-Up, a snap-shot of the weeks posts all condensed into one nice pretty list. We luv lists.
Movies
- New Culchie Niall talks about the virtues of 3D movies. What’s your view? 3D or not 3D?

- Darren concluded Beatles week with his Beatles movie post.

Music
- Check out Darragh’s post & video of their new single, S.E.C.R.E.T. It’s been a long while since the The Delorentos fabilis and awesome first album ‘In Love With Detail‘ and I am very much anticipating their second album “You Can Make Sound” which is due for release on October 9th. No time now!
- Another Coldplay/Joe Satriani-esque scandal? Darragh wonders if Mika ripped off David Brent.
- This also falls under the “events” heading and an awesome event it is too. I hear there are still some singles tickets left for an Evening of Reading, Music & Conversation with Nick Cave.
Theatre/Comedy/Gigs
- I really wish I had gotten along to see Point Blank at the Project Arts Center. Steph has a very positive review of the performance.
- John’s Electric Picnic Diary.
- New Culch-adoptee Eric Lalor is facing the fear and going on tour.
TV
- Last week Niamh talked about the new Irish TV show “The House”. Many people commented that they didn’t have/never heard of DCTV (Dublin Community TV). Then off she went and found the first episode online for your viewing pleasure.
- Speaking of homegrown TV check out the new net-show Covies.
- Do you patiently sit in on a Thursday night waiting for the latest installment of your favourite show? Do you Sky+ it? Or just avoid avoid avoid until the box-set is released?
Books/Magazines
- Allan reviews The Third Pig Detective Agency.
- Even more Beatles mania as Ronan recommends books about the band.

I know a girl from Ballycumber. Wonder is there a character in the play based on her…
I know a girl from Ballycumber,
When I’m lonely I call her number,
Late at night, on her I lumber,
And in 2 minutes I start to slumber.
My sincere apologies to Sebastian Barry
I know a girl from Ballycumber,
I’ve known her since we were younger,
If I remember correctly, her father was a plumber,
Not really, but Darren stole all the rhymes.
My sincere apologies to poetry
