Brilliant advertisement: The man who walked around the world

It’s the first time I’ve seen this advertisement for the Johnnie Walker brand featuring Robert Carlyle. Lovely method of storytelling for something so commercial. Recommended 6 minute watch for those who like clever ads.

    Robert Carlyle is simply magnificent in this. He makes what could very easily be an extremely boring ‘About Us’ monologue into a striking, captivating and ultimately inspiring story. Hat tip to BBH.

    Very nice ad. Pity Bobby’s had a petulant wee foot-stampy hissy fit about the British film industry this week though, it’s his general non-appearance in Hollywood tosh that sets him apart from his peers today. I doubt his appearance in the mediocre Stargate:Universe TV series will prevent him from quickly turning into a journeyman villain in crap action movies over there.
