The annual Frank Harte Festival is on for this weekend at An Goílín, the Traditional Singers Club located at 36 Parnell Square West in Dublin.

The programme of events is as follows:
Friday, September 24th
Reception and official opening at 8 pm (free).
Singing session featuring the invited guests at 9 pm (€3).
Saturday, September 25th
Two adult workshops with teachers Roisín Gaffney or Alison MacMorland at 11 am (€10).
Illustrated Talk “I Am a Wee Weaver: Songs of the Handloom Weavers” by Maurice Leyden at 1:3o pm (free).
Singing Session at 3:3o pm (€3).
Grand Concert by the invited guest singers at 8:30 pm (€20).
Sunday, September 26th
In the footsteps of Michael Moran [aka Zozimus] and Frank Harte (free). A walking and singing tour of The Liberties with members of An Góilín. Starting from Christ Church Cathedral at 11 am and finishing at The Brazen Head.
Refreshments at 2 pm.
Singers Session and Final Farewell at 3 pm (€3).

On a side note, I introduced myself to Frank Harte on a Boston harbor cruise at part of Boston College’s Gaelic Roots summer school and festival during the 1990′s as I had read his posts to the IrTrad-L discussion list.
