Oktoberfest

Be in with a chance to win dinner for you and three of your mates at the opening night of the Paulaner Oktoberfest, which is running at the Dublin Docklands from 8-18th October. Visited by over 70,000 people last year, The Oktoberfest is rapidly becoming one of the highlights of Autumn in Dublin.

For the second year running, the Oktoberfest comes from Germany to Dublin, giving us Irish the chance to experience the authentic Oktoberfest. A marquee - representative of that in the Munich Oktoberfest, German markets, as well as over 24 Munich barmaids will descend on Georges Dock for some German fun, food, entertainment and authentic Bavarian beer. Visitors will also be treated to the sounds of Bavarian brass and dance music from the German group, Mostland Stürmer.

To enjoy a taste of this Bavarian experience in Dublin this October, log onto www.paulaner-oktoberfest.com. Admission is free, so you’ve no excuses.

Oktoberfest

To be in with a chance to win, just leave a comment below telling us why you and your mates deserve to win. The winner will be independently selected on Monday 5th Oktober.

Oh, I love that I get to say this for the first time: Enjoy Paulaner responsibly. :)

I deserve it because I’m a hardcore teutonophile, I heart German beer festivals, I was there last year & spent 50 quid getting my coat cleaned after several pints fell on it, I stood and sat down and span and chanted along to the band, and I did the same this February in Bavaria at the Fasching festival, and I have friends who like Germany and beer too.

Ich musen mein bier haben ! [sp?]

I’ll be arriving in Dublin on the 8th :)

  3. Marcel says:

Well. that’s easy - I’m German meself and it’s a perfect opportunity to relate German culture (especially the Dirndls) to my Irish mates without taking a flight. Prost!

  4. Tracy says:

I need to win because my boyfriend deserves it!! He’s been putting up with me and having waaay too little beer for a while now, he definitely deserves some oktoberfest lovin’!

  5. tcup says:

well my friends is going out with a german guy but he’s recently moved to the states as you do, she’s distraught it would make her feel closer to him as you do! so to win this in her name would be wonderbar

  6. Evin says:

I’ve been to Munich many times but never got to enjoy Ocktorfest, please say it’s my turn?!

  7. I never really drank beer or drank at all in university. I guess because people drink so much and they’d suck the alcohol from a make up remover wipe if it suited them. When I started going out with my boyfriend 5 years ago, he drove me to drink. Not in the way you’d think though. He would only drink beer that was well crafted, I’d try some, he’d explain what type it was, dunkle, Weiss, lambic etc. So it was nice to appreciate beer as something that’s crafted and not mass produced. So now if I drink I am choosey about what I will drink. The Germans have to brew their beer to a certain standard with no additives in order for it to be called beer, and it’s something that I admire. So, I’d love to go, because it’s a drink promotion where I’d gladly drink the beer on offer.

What better excuse is there to catch up with three of my favourite people than drinks and food at the Oktoberfest? In fact, even if I don’t win, I think I’ll go!!!

Broke up with my very long term girlfriend last week. Sorrows must be drowned and gossip with the lads must be caught up on. Boo hoo for me.

    Thanks lads,

I deserve to win because I am just back from Oktoberfest in Munich where I spent 200 euro buying an authentic amazing dirndl and then when I arrived in Theresienweise I couldn’t get into any tents :-( It would be sooo nice to get to wear my dirndl again here in Dublin and this time have a ticket for a tent and enjoy drinking Paulaner and dancing to Die alpen show. Please please… set the dirndl free xx
