Just a few tidbits I’ve picked up lately :)

Biffy Clyro have announced that their 5th studio album titled Only Revolutions will be released through 14th Floor Records and on November 9th. Biffy have been alluded as one of those “must-see” live bands in the last two or three years. They’re coming to Dublin’s Olympia on October 29th and there are still tickets on sale. I personally haven’t felt the excitement of seeing them on stage but I do love their music. I think what’s great about them is they don’t conform to the whole “4 chords” process of song writing if you know what I mean. They write in a kind of chaotic and unconventional way and that’s definitely what makes them stand out.

Tom Waits fans listen up! Glitter and Doom Live, a compilation of performed live songs from last year’s completely sold out US and European tour, will be released on November 23rd.

It’s a 2 CD set. 1 includes 17 songs from 10 nights of the tour (I believe that the song Trampled Rose is the one recorded from the Dublin gig, which I vaguely remember Darren saying he attended. Forgive me if I’m wrong though ) . The other CD is about 40 minutes of Waits’ ramblings appropriately entitled “Tom Tales”. Apparently he talks about all sorts of odd stuff like romantic spiders and injured vultures. He’s an odd wan alright. The double disc set looks promising though.

Mika says that he could very well just quit recording music and move onto animation and setting up his own company. He recently told The Sun ”I might continue making music until I die but there’s also a chance I might quit soon. There’s a chance people think, ‘We’re done with that Mika.’ In that case I’d start a cartoon company. I’m a good artist and designer.”
What will happen now that we can’t watch a half naked man dance around a child’s bedroom? People of Culch , I just don’t know. We’ll just have to revert back to lyrca-wearing models dancing to repetitive music again. Damn you Mika. Damn you all to hell.

Singer-songwriter Jessica Simpson suspects that her dead dog would want her to find another canine. Daisy was “taken away” by a coyote last month. She said, ‘I haven’t really thought about another dog yet, but maybe sometime. Daisy would want that.’
Its funny how the first four letters of her surname are the same first four letters of the word simpleton. What a kwinkidink! Your weird and wacky story of the week was brought to you by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups - “You got chocolate in my peanut butter! You got peanut butter on my chocolate!”

Bowling For Soup have brought out their 10th studio album. They’ve been around about 15 years now, sold millions of albums and played over 3,000 shows to name just a few accomplishments. That is amazing for any band to be able to do. The album is titled Sorry For Partyin’ and was released last Monday in stores and on iTunes of course. I’ve listened to it and its classic BFS. Especially the song My Wena which is hilarious. Check out the video for the song right below. Awesome
