Colonel Popcorn’s Minute Movie Mystery

You know the rules, no cheating or something bad will happen to a random puppy. I live right beside a shelter too, so don’t think I won’t.

Guess the movie -

  • Released in 1990.
  • Robert Downey Jr, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey were all considered for the lead role.
  • The first draft of the script was written as a musical.
  • Only 169 words are spoken by the title character.
  • Backstreet Boy, Nick Carter was also in this film. Albeit briefly.

  1. Emlyn says:

Edward Scissorhands? I know Burton was considering it as a musical at one point? And the year/title character fit too :P

  2. Darren Byrne says:

The musical bit and the year point me towards Depp and Burton’s loveable version of Freddy Krueger.

  3. Niall says:

One of my all-time favourites, and also Vincent Price’s last movie. He actually fainted during the death scene and Burton kept it in anyway.

  4. Peter says:

I’ll very cunningly read the posts above me and pretend I knew all along it was Edward Scissorhands…..

    I is so clever wot?

  5. Keleher says:

Was clueless, although number of words spoken was a good clue, the idea of this as a musical is turning my stomach, but that’s just me ;)

  6. it was Eddie Scissorhands.

As for the musical bit, there are rumours that the original script draft has been bought up to bring it back to its roots and make a musical version out of it.
