I’ve stopped caring….

We got the internet at home this weekend so when I popped open my laptop to yahoo news, the first bit of news to jump up at me was that George Hamilton had left the jungle. Then I remembered Sh1t! We were suppose to be reviewing this for Culch.ie oops! So I guess not only reviewers but even the contestants have decided that ‘I’m a celebrity’ is woeful and they should go before they are pushed! George is the third contestant to make like a tree and get the f**k outta there. When Katie Price left so did the viewers. I really don’t care who’s doing a challenge and I really don’t care about who was knocked out and I really don’t care who’s going to win. The show has lost its appeal and I hope that this will be the last series. Flogging a dead horse might be a … There’s more

Play a part in Verdi’s AIDA

Verdi’s famous opera Aida, is said to be one of the greatest operas ever written. It tells the story of an Ethiopian princess whose love for an Egyptian soldier is complicated by the fact that their two countries are at war with each other and Aida’s love rival is the Pharaoh’s daughter. Aida will be performed with spectacular effect, with 12 metres high pyramids, palm trees and statues on the stage of the O2 Arena in Dublin on Friday 4 December and in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on Saturday 5 December. This opera calls for a large range of extras, some of whom have been chosen in Dublin to take part in both of these productions. Including some people you might know! But they need more!

Tom Waits’ Glitter and Doom Live Album - Review

Before August 1st 2008, I can’t think of a time I was truly starstruck. I was a bit tongue-tied when I met Gay Byrne two years ago, but apart from that, I don’t think I’ve ever come close to being starstruck. When Tom Waits stepped out on stage, he looked ten feet tall. A combination of the rapturous cheers, the perfectly targeted spotlights and Waits’ natural charisma made him the most alluring man on the planet at that moment. I was in awe. I’m not sure if I cheered - I may have just stared. Of course, I was not as overcome as the American guy behind me who screamed uncontrollably and looked close to tears. Understandable! All this, before the man sang a single note.

It’s Tuesday so that means it’s DVD day. We have quite a selection box of treats this week on the DVD front including a major summer blockbuster, an inoffensive if poor kids movie, an atypical Sandra Bullock rom-com and decent horror flick. What PS3 game do you want for Christmas?

With Christmas literally weeks away, there will be one question firmly to the front of many people’s minds. What are the latest and greatest PS3 games out there to buy for your kids? I’ve been sent a few games over the last couple of weeks by the very kind people at Sony and have put them to the test: Disclaimer - I have asked my younger sister to help out with these reviews as she is a much better judge than I of games that involve pets or singing! Take That SingStar I am not a fan of any of these kind of games. In fact, I hate them with a passion. I intensely dislike it when parties turn into karaoke sessions, and dislike a Take That addition to the franchise even more. There. That’s my gripe over with. My review would have been quite one-sided so, I requested the … There’s more
