Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty
Granny O’Grimm is an Irish-made animated short film, short-listed for an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film in 2010. They have just put the full version online and it is wonderful. A beautifully made bedtime story with an Irish flavour, I love it! Granny O’Grimm certainly lives up to her name.
‘Granny’ is voiced by Kathleen O’Rourke who is also the writer of the short. Nicky Phelan directed and Brown Bag Films produced the film.
Enjoy!

It’s a great achievement. So far they’ve only made the 10 film short-list. We won’t know until February 2nd whether they are one of the 5 nominees for the Oscar. I’m pretty certain that Partly Cloudy is a lock for the award though.

Great stuff. And I say we have a pretty good chance of being nominated considering our past successes in this catergory (’50 Percent Grey’ and ‘Give Up Your Aul Sins’ spring to mind)

I like the part with the granny and the kid in bed, better than the cartoon story part, also think the granny is the elderly fairy, same vertical gray hair

I found this a surprisingly fun watch and found my self laughing more than expected.
Good luck and I hope it gets the well deserved nomination.
