You’ve heard the drill by now: early 60s ad agency, man-crush favourite Don Draper is the troubled but powerful ad agent protagonist; add a cast of interesting characters and stunning visuals = quality viewing.
You can watch seasons 1 and 2 at your leisure over the coming months but if you want to watch it all before the third season you have a week because Season 3 starts on Monday week January 11th 2010 at 11.35pm on RTE1.
And yes I unashamedly utilise the word season for US shows and keep series for the home grown telly.
One of the finest shows on TV. Writing at it’s finest.
Have never watched it even though popular with folks here, and online.
Might be up against a show I watch.
Yeah, called seasons of a series here.
I put off watching Mad Men for ages, just because it was so hyped. Then I finally (and thankfully) caved and watched seasons 1 and 2 for the first time before Christmas on the player; dead handy indeed. Used the Christmas hols to catch up on Season 3 elsewhere.
It’s such a wonderful show. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely one of the far better dramas out there. And I’m kinda in love with Christine Hendricks. Swit Swoo.
Niall - its true
Seamus - don’t think you can access rte player in the States but it might be on the HBO site maybe.
Annie - I’m half way through season 3 at the minute. I like the fact that these shows are 12/13 episodes long. Makes it a bit more manageable.
Hi Bngr, its an ABC program so should be able to have a look at Mad Men there, I cannot access RTE player from the states. Thanks.
It’s a very good show, smart and stylish and full of good characters in different kinds of trouble. I watched the first season late last year, and I intend to catch up on the rest when I can.
Seamus - station fail
Stan - I’m the same myself, waiting to get the chance to finish season 3.
