Just wanted to point the good folk at Culch towards a very interesting press release that went out today. I’m involved with the Science Gallery on their new flagship project, Biorhythm and there’s an open call for artists of all disciplines to submit a proposal for consideration.
So, if you’re an experimental musician, musical neuroscientist, sound artist, cyborg performer, dance-floor divs and harmonic engineers or just somebody with great ideas or a passion for music and science, I’d suggest you have a think about this or even just spread the word to someone that you think would be interested.
Our goal with BIORHYTHM is to explore how art and science help us interpret, understand and enjoy the sounds of the 21st century. We are looking for participative experiences and experiments for the public as well as stand-alone performances.
“Running for three months (2 July - 1 October, 2010), BIORHYTHM will also include special live performances, innovative installations, unique physical and mental experiences, high-profile talks, discussions and debates, and other musical and biological events web-focused interactions, games and truly collaborative experience.”
To find out more, just pop over here http://www.sciencegallery.com/biorhythm. You can also contact myself (rob[at]venntertainment[dot]com) for more info. (Submissions must be received no later than Tuesday March 30 2010 to be considered for inclusion.)
Interesting .. is this the biorythm fad of many years back based on your birth date .. physical, emotional and intellectual cycles ?
I’m sure they’re related in some way actually, much more musically focused though
I think its a great idea, myself a trad man in Boston, who likes a wide range of music, be interesting to see the results, keep us posted
Most certainly will. Hopefully we’ll get a nice bunch of trad proposals…nothing to stop yourself putting something in
I am hoping to be over in a few weeks, for the IBA’s, be in Dublin and Galway, if I book flights, am thinking this is a more in person thing than say a survey, I am interested, will check further via the link to the Science Museum, thanks
