Alice in Wonderland - The 1903 Version

The first film version of the classic tale has been restored by the British Film Institute and was made 8 years after the birth of cinema. The original ran for 12 minutes and was the longest film produced in England at the time.

Lots more on the story behind the restoration process on the BFI website.

About lecraic

I blog at lecraic.com about random things - mostly with an Irish flavour. I Photoshop by day to make a crust, and sometimes Photoshop at night for the blog.

I am a fan of books - I love collecting and reading them with a slight preference for non fiction (business, biographies, current affairs). Some children had "blankies" as pacifiers - I had my "Billy Doran" book that went everywhere with me - even though I was too young to read at the time.

I like the rest of culchur as well as books - like films n' things.

Can you imagine the amount of work needed to restore this - frame by frame and all by hand too.

Yes it is very ‘raw’ but amazing to think this is 107 years old!

    Nice post
