A couple of months ago I went to see Little Gem in the Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre. It’s truly one of the best things I’ve seen on stage in years; moving, funny and very clever.
Though tight, smart and brilliantly staged, it’s one of the most accessible Irish plays I’ve seen in some time. It really is a play for everyman, or indeed everywoman, as it centres on the lives of three generations of Dublin women – Amber, her mother Lorraine and the show-stealing grandmother Kay.
Well, I’m happy to report that it’s now visiting the Axis Theatre in Ballymun from 23rd to 27th March. I urge you to see this wonderful Irish play.
If you would like to go along to see Little Gem in the Axis on Saturday 27th March, drop a comment below. Winners will be selected on Saturday 19th, so you’ll have plenty of time to prepare for a night out at the theatre.
But even if you don’t win, if you would like more information or tickets visit the Axis website and click here for my full review from January.
Will be over at the time but in Galway city for the IBA’s, hope you have a fun night. Perhaps I can catch this in Dublin before or after the weekend.
Oooh I do love the theatre.
Consider my name in the hat.
Also a request - I am organising a staff night out with my team. We have decided on a comedy night - so Cluchies - any ideas what would be good that is coming up in Dublins comedy scene??
@Peter I will ask the Twitterverse.
Thank you sir - I have been barred from Twitter!
Oh I’d like to see this!
well after your rave review I’d love to go!!
Count me in-was gutted I missed it earlier in the year!
I’ve been trying to get myself in the same room as that Fair City actress for years now. Not that I’m a crazed lunatic or anything….
Ahem.
Go on Culch. Make a dream come true.
I’ve heard this play is a Gem, I would love to see it.
Seeing this play could save my marraige!!
Well good to know, should I need it.
If you’re not in you can’t win. Can I get a profile pic?
@Foxeinsocks Your profile pic (Avatar) is linked to your email address. The easiest way to change this is to go to Gravatar.com.
To everyone else - thanks for the entries. Tell your friends.
Sounds like a fun night, can you put me in the hat.
