*** Congratulations to Maylis Campbell ***

*** Thank you to everyone who entered ***

Before I go on, check out this preview video from the show. It looks so cool - I cannot wait to see it:

Traces features 5 young artists fresh out of circus school, all in their early twenties, mixing classic acrobatics with such street forms as skateboard, basketball, and parcours. The result is an intimate circus experience (à la Cirque du Soleil) yet with a more urban flavor, as these young artists explode onto the stage with a renewed dynamic energy.

TracesThe show takes place in a make-shift shelter, an unknown catastrophe waiting outside the doors of tarp and gaffer tape. The five characters constructed this clubhouse to live to the fullest what they believe could be their last moments, hoping to leave nothing unsaid or undone. In the face of this impending disaster they have determined that creation is the only antidote to destruction, and their brand of creation is the fleeting impulses and desires that extend through bodies and unfurl onto a stage - the stories told through music, song, dance, speech, illustration, and high-risk acrobatics.

They use every mode of expression available to them, hoping to leave a lasting mark… to leave their traces (you see!) as best they can. As they tell stories of their past, share with us their various personal strengths and weaknesses, the audience gets to know these five performers from every possible angle.

Traces will be in The Olympia Theatre, Dublin for 6 nights only, from 12th to 17th April. Tickets are available now from Ticketmaster from €28 including booking fee. However, you could see it for free…

Hello, I’m writing to you from Belgium…my mother spotted an announcement about Traces in one of the national newspapers and told me about it. I’m bringing my three children back to Ireland after Easter and wanted to take them to a high quality cultural experience to stimulate their imagination and leave them with an unforgetable memory of this trip to Ireland. Traces is certainly tempting and so I hope we are the lucky ones. Undoubtedly, il va laisser des traces inoubliables dans leurs esprits …
