Competition Closed: Pendulum at The Olympia.

*** Competition Now Closed ***

*** Congratulations to Evin and thanks to everyone who entered! ***

If you’re into your electronica, and if you’re an insufferable snob about it, you’re probably … well, me. Christ, let me start again.

Drum n’ Bass crossover / sometime rocktronica-pushing Aussies Pendulum, prepping for the release of their third album, Immersion, play The Olympia in Dublin on the 18th of May, and Culch.ie has two tickets to give away … maybe to you, if you fancy it. Leave a comment below to be in with a chance. Pendulum live is one of those Experiences rampant party animals gush about for aeons afterward; this should be on the epic end of high-octane, for those of you who like your bass pumping and your hands in the air like you just don’t ca-a-re.

For a sampler, here’s new single Watercolour…

… which marks a welcome return to the bouncy drum n’ bass stylings of first album, Hold Your Colour, after the hit and miss synthrock of In Silico, if you ask me. Which you haven’t. Blogging can be very one-way like that. Good luck!

Remember, anyone who enters a Culch.ie competition between now and May 20th will also be entered into a draw to win the Samsung S3500 mobile phone. Click here for more details.

About Lisa McInerney

That cranky young wan from award-winning blog, Arse End Of Ireland, Lisa’s also noted for her dedication to cobbling together unrelated imprecations to make new and bemusing insults, mostly because she’s not eloquent enough to otherwise explain her deep-seated terror of genre fiction and Fianna Fail. In 2006, The Irish Times called her “… the most talented writer at work in Ireland today”, and her mam still can’t understand why this is better than being the new Marian Keyes. Which it totally is. yes please, would love to see these guys live. They played Oxegen last year and I believe they were fantastic. And if I may say so myself, In Silico is a great album :)

  2. Sweary says:

I felt that In Silico veered wildly from brilliant and woeful and back again, but the brilliant swings it for me. I do love me a bit of Pendulum - just don’t tell the scenesters. ;)

Anyway, I’m not entering this competition, so I’ll shut up now!
