The Dead Weather adrift in a Sea of Cowards

Sometime Kills front woman Alison Mosshart and White Stripe Jack White have done it again. Less than a full year than the release of their last album, the hottest new Nashvillians White, Mosshart, Lawrence and Fertita have released ‘Sea of Cowards’ hot of the heels of Horehound. The title ‘Sea of Cowards’, appears to refer to faceless internet critics. The album itself is an 11-track rock and roll powerhouse coming out on White’s own imprint, Third Man Records, in conjunction with Warner. Now for those who didn’t catch this all girl rock band, The Like, the first time around here’s a brief history: Back in 05/06 this band of 3 childhood friends, Z Berg, Tennessee Thomas and Charlotte Froom, were causing a nice little bit of buzz in the music industry. With their hit singles June Gloom and What I Say and What I Mean from their debut album Are You Thinking What I’m Thinking, the future was bright for this band. They toured for what seemed like forever, appear at festival’s like Glastonbury and touring with the likes of Muse, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys. Everywhere they went they seemed to gather more and more fans to their infectious sounds. I even managed to catch them at their one and only gigs at Crawdaddy back in 2006. Review: Perfect Dark

If you played Perfect Dark on a Nintendo 64 back in 2000, then you’re going to love this game. If you were overjoyed by Rare’s earlier game “Goldeneye 007″ on any format, then you are going to love it. Otherwise, this is going to be an interesting history lesson in gaming. Actually, the Xbox 360 seems to be mining the past quite a bit at the moment between “Game Room” and its “Time Warp” events. Perfect Dark on the Xbox Live Arcade is the game updated for high definition screens and on hardware that can actually manage the frame rate lacking back in 2000. At the time it was the best, most advanced first person shooter (FPS) on the market.
