1 Day for Rehab: This Sunday!

If you haven’t heard about 1 Day for Rehab that may be because we haven’t told you about it yet (not that we’d like to think of ourselves as the only news source in the world or anything).

Luckily, you still have plenty of time to pick out an event (or events) to attend because it’s all happening this Sunday and wherever you’re based, there’s probably something going on nearby. The 1 Day for Rehab programme of charity events are being organised by individuals, companies and groups up and down the country to raise money for rehab services such as home care, transport and education programmes. There’s an amazing array of events scheduled including:

Scubathon in Clare

Lord Mayor’s Gala Ball in Cork

Treasure Hunt & Lunch in Dun Laoghaire

Teddy Bear’s Picnic in Louth

Bowling Tournament in Mullingar

with all of the official listings available over on the 1 Day for Rehab site.

If you’re at a loose end this Sunday, head along to one of the events to give yourself the feelgoods or if you’ve been forgetting to buy your dad something for Father’s Day, pretend you’d be planning to take him to a Gala Ball or a Treasure Hunt all along. (Charity was never this easy when I was young. What ever happened to putting your sweets money in the Trocaire box?)

Here’s a picture of a small child at the 1 Day for Rehab launch:

Everyone say aaaahhhh.

Lovely.
