Duckworth and Nash

Two upcoming gig announcements from MCD last week that are definitely worth heeding.

Neil Hannon and Thomas ‘Pugwash’ Walsh’s tour de force, the Duckworth Lewis Method, are set to return after a very brief absence for Neil to promote the Divine Comedy’s ‘Bang Goes the Knighthood’. The Ivor Novello nominated, cricket inspired duo are set to tear it up at Dublin’s Olympia on July 28th. Tickets went on sale this morning at 9am for the princely sum of €28. Definitely money well spent.

If you’re late to the DLM party here’s a vid of the lads covering ELO’s Mr Bluesky on the Podge and Rodge show not too long ago…

I’ll be honest and say I have a thing for Kate Nash. It’s that cheeky cockney charm that swayed me when she sang of her crumbling Foundations and when she told me I Just Want Your Kiss. But Kate’s ditched the ginger ringlets and the sweetness, she’s gone full-woman on us. This is clear from the new track ‘Paris’ for sure.

However, to accommodate her younger-than-usual audience Kate will be playing a series of under-age gigs across the country, where no alcohol will be served. The shows will take place in October and are on sale now for €22.65 here’s the schedule:

Friday 8th LIMERICK, Dolans (Over 18s)

Saturday 9th BELFAST, Mandela Hall (Over 14s. No alcohol served)

Sunday 10th DUBLIN, The Academy (Over 14s. No alcohol served)

And the obligatory youtube clip of the new single-
