Indie’Go World Music and Arts Festival

Indie’Go World Music and Arts Festival will be taking place this August in Ballydarton House, Fenagh, Co. Carlow and is promising a colourful fusion of performance art, world music and workshops. The festival is aimed at families as well as individuals and will have a camping ground for people to stay for the whole weekend onsite.

To highlight the fact that the festival is one hundred percent child-friendly, the organisers are running a competition aimed at children. They want to see a kids view of the world so the competition is to photograph or draw something that they find amusing. Parents then post the pic to the Indie’Go Facebook page here and the Facebook fans will vote for their favourite ones. The best ones will be used in promotional materials for the festival with winners winning a family ticket to the festival. Sounds easy! Get those kids cracking!! The closing date is next Friday, 2nd July 2010.

The Indie’Go Festival takes place on 6, 7 and 8 August. It sounds like a hugely relaxed and different kind of festival with musicians and performers from all over the world attending. Their invitation to come to the festival has been based on their enthusiasm, passion and talent for what they do rather than on how many records they’ve sold, etc. so you are guaranteed some really unique experiences.

You can read more details including the full line up of performances on their website. Ticket prices are reasonable and some of the proceeds will be donated to Barnardos and to Self Help Africa.
