I laughed. So hard. As did the entire screen full of people I saw it with. Also at a certain point it became more about what a ridiculous man her boyfriend was more than anything else
Dudes, I am a massive horror fan. It’s my favourite genre. And yes, Paranormal Activity had some genuinely scary moments. The atmosphere alone was incredibly tense.
Sorry I shouldn’t have said that really. But yeah, myself and my friends were in agreement that Paranormal Activity was a dreadful, even boring, movie.
The original was very good as an atmospheric horror but this looks kinda pants. An emo burglar girl beats them up and stares down their dog. This sort of horror movie shouldn’t have a visible enemy! By the way, if somehow u missed Drag Me To Hell, give it a go. Classic B-movie horror!
I’m with you darren the first scared the bejaysus out of me. I couldn’t sleep for a week after it i kept walking up thinking they’re was something wrong in the hose AND i sleep in an attic conversion so i have the door to the roof in my room! Will not be seeing this film.
This trailer is laughably unscary. Nothing Happens. There’s a slight hint of Atmosphere and one or two eery things, but nothing happens, there’s next to no plot.
I have yet to see the first one but by the looks of the trailer and what people say it’s probably pretty weak.
Horror also ALWAYS depends on the people you see it with. If people laugh even once it release’s the tension and you will see it all differently. I bet if the complainers see it again they may get a jump or two, but never be fully scared. Where as fans will eventually see the flaws, and the funny moments.
Popcorn horror is always about gimmicks and the audience. Where as true classics will always make you jump. Halloween, Jaws and Psycho stand the test of time far better than The Exorcist, Blair witch and others.
The best in recent years was The Orphanage, feckin’ freaky.
@DoYouKnowAntosBRO - when you say an emo burglar girl are you just guessing that from the trailer? I thought it was the girlfriend is scary demon mode. Or have you somehow seen this movie already?
Horror is my favourite genre and the first Paranormal Activity didn’t seem scary at all. I thought it was fairly boring - and I wanted it to be good! It’s been a while since there was a mainstream horror that didn’t depend on gore to shock. I’ll probably still watch this in the hope of an adrenaline rush
Ah, Darren. There I was thinking I was going to get the vapours or something. That was about as scary as Bosco.
The first did very little for me too, but I think a lot of that was down to the fact that I watched it with a friend who was on the edge of her seat the whole time, screaming instructions and admonishments at the characters. “Don’t go up there! Turn on the light! Ah, what are you doing, didn’t she tell you not to get a ouija board!”
@Hugo, The Orphanage was a load of pants. We had to rewind and replay about twenty minutes of it because we were laughing so hard at it, we missed a load of “plot”.
@ Darren - I wasn’t terrified of the first movie, though it certainly gave me the creeps big time (try watching it on your own in the dark at night rather than a room full of people!)…and yes, the boyfriend was extremly annoying. This trailer does look interesting…
@ Sweary - Ringu scared the crap out of me…especially THAT scene. Have to say I liked The Orphanage, but that was much less a horror movie and more a simple ghost story.
Are you messing?
What? No!! It freaked the hell out of me.
It might actually outdo the first one in being MORE rubbish and (impossibly) LESS scary!
You need to see more horror Darren!

Am I alone in this?
