So I saw the first Twilight movie but not the second and I haven’t read any of the books. I thought the first one was ok but all the hype and hysteria surely can’t be just for a hot vampire boy can it?
This trailer for instance - the official trailer for the new movie - is up on Youtube for just under 4 months and it has almost 10 million views - ten MILLION!!
What am I missing here - why do people love these movies? Why should I go and see it? Educate me!
The films and novels portray exactly what we all spend our adolsecent/young adult lives searching for - One True Love.
The difference between them and another trite romance films is the lack of sex, the characters focusing more on emotional connections, and also the reverence with which the canonical texts are treated.
Dialogue is lifted directly from the novels and because shooting takes place in Forks, the scenery & backgrounds are exactly as described in the novels.
I’m not saying go see them, especially without having read the novels, but I’m really looking forward to Eclipse - it’s the book where all the good stuff happens!
