Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark

Spider Man Turn Off The Dark

Recently, the world got its first look at the new Spider Man musical currently set for Broadway later this year. Yes that’s right, a Spider Man musical! Why should we care? Well for one, music is being provided by our very own Bono and The Edge. Secondly because Spider Man is, y’kno, pretty cool. And mercifully it won’t feature either Tobey Maguire or Kirsten Dunst. Yay!

Check it out after the break and let us know what you think!

    The song is horrible.

But some of set design looks rather lovely.

How can Bobo & The Hedge being involved be a good thing while having Tobey and Kirsten there would be a bad thing?

I’m not really pushed on U2, only highlighting it for the Irish interest side of things.
As for the other two - Tobey is so unremarkable as to be practically non-existant and Kirsten’s Mary Jane was terrible, a million miles away from the original character.

So the singer, Reeve (?) is playing Peter Parker. His voice is a bit raspy, thought the music was not bad. Do not like what they’ve done with the Green Goblin, looks rather strange, as does the Swiss Miss (wonder what the instant hot cocoa makers of the same name think ?). The pop-up sets and over the audience acrobatics sounds interesting.
Think it will be worth a trip down from Boston.
