This is the sublimely gnarly Hoarsebox with something box-fresh for yis. This is Add It Up; it’s one of the new tracks from the lads’ debut album, which will be a ray of sunshine in the January 2011 gloom. No jobs, no leadership, no prospects … but a full Hoarsebox album! Huzzah! Pints! Hoarsebox have been working on the album with noses to the grindstone in Mississippi, of all places, so Add It Up is pretty redolent of deep-south gospel, if it were conceived by Willie Wonka during a skinny-dip in his chocolate lake. The lads are playing Whelans on 11th of November, which will be the first airing of the new songs. So yeah, a pretty special gig. €10 a head, and highly, highly recommended.
