The Apprentice Liveblog Week Four

Welcome to the fourth of this year’s Apprentice Liveblogs. If you’re unfamiliar with liveblogs, it’s simply a place to chat about the show while we’re watching. It’s one big moderated chat room for The Apprentice. You can follow it below on Culch.ie or you can launch a stand alone window and follow it there. It’s simple and fun, so please come join us. Also, after the show, I’ll be announcing details of this week’s Apprentice competition in association with this week’s Apprentice challenge setter, Ryobi. The Day The Laughter Died?

All over t’internet today (and we here at Culch.ie don’t like to be left out of any mob) is guerilla artist Banksy’s Simpsons intro, which depicts the horrors of sweatshop outsourcing. Take a look-see. I’m in two minds about this one. On one level, it’s dank, depressing and damning. But on the other hand, it’s an official, ready-to-air Simpsons intro, and therefore self-deprecating, and I don’t know if you can be self-deprecating in any deep sense if you’re featuring shackled unicorns popping holes in DVDs. I’m thinking this is more piss-take than thought-provoker, that there’s more a sense of The Simpsons team sneering at the idea that they’re taking advantage of developing world economies. What about you?
