Day 10 so it’s number 16 on the list…

A young Arabian man, Malik El Djebena, is sentenced to six years in prison and is soon confronted by a Corsican gang who give him a number of “jobs” to do. Despite an inability to read or write he soon the gang leader’s confidence. But Malik is working on plans of his own and may be a lot more cunning than the gang members realise…

Verdict: A new crime classic. Godfather-like in it’s story, but importantly it never feels like Godfather-lite. Grim, violent, edgy and brilliant.
