Have you ever walked in to a comedy gig and known straight off that it was going to be a good night? I got that feeling as soon as I walked into 4 Dame Lane last Thursday night. It is most definitely the nicest venue I have seen for comedy (I realise I said this about The Comedy Cavern in Lucan last week but I must admit 4 Dame Lane beats Lucan!) The room is full of very comfortable sofas and as Kevin Lockard described “mood lighting” It actually felt like I was sitting in my front room having a private comedy show with the comedians. I especially like the backdrop of the stone wall at the back of the stage, which according to the MC Hugh O’Connor gave it the old school feel which I must admit I totally agree with.
