Movember Update: 10 Days In

10 days in and the novelty is wearing slightly thin. The original fuzz has given way to the coarsest hair anywhere on my body, well maybe almost anywhere. Mentally, I feel like a chrysalis entering the last phase of metamorphose. A new darker me is emerging from the thickening. This gringo has started to consider cowboy boots and a horse for the daily commute. Saddle up partner it’s gonna be a long ride.

Compost has a tendency to velcro to my stubble so I’m usually relatively clean shaven. This Movember, as versus The Hercule Poirot, I went for The Hulk Hogan [alias The Trucker] look. For those that don’t know of Movember, I’m a little conscious to keep the garden blog updated with a pic hither dither.I’m sure there’s nothing worse than expecting Ryan Tubridy when instead a Paddy Irish Hells Angel variation wearing shorts calls to look at your garden. On the other hand, that also creates awareness for the big picture - which is essesntially what Mo month is all about.

So far the tash is looking good, although the lady in my life cringes every time she looks at it. The donations have started well and can only increase in line with our amazing face culchivations!I hope to raise awareness for prostate cancer because a family member is currently recovering from an operation to have it removed.

I’ve never been one for making plans or sticking to plans, yet alone combining both but this Movember thing has really given my a right old face horn. In for the long haul, a few days shy of a fortnight, my ever-blossoming lip scarf is beginning to take shape. I did contemplate several styles, dismissing them all much the way Goldilocks did the bowls of porridge before she got torn limb from limb and eaten by Papa Bear, Mama Bear and Baby Bear. There will be Blood; ultimately a film about oil and bible bashers is the fantastic inspiration for my Mo. Daniel Plainview this one is fo you.
