For an alternative Christmas Carol Night, here’s a brilliant line up of comedians performing stand up and musical comedy! Providing entertainment on the night are Totally Wired and The Guilty Folk. Stand up comedy will be provided by Marcus O’Laoire, Kieran Lawless and Ian Perth. MC duties will be fulfilled by Simon O’Keeffe What a line up eh? How could you not go to this! Comedy Review: Quinns Craic House launch Night

Last Tuesday saw the launch of Quinns Craic house in Quinns Bar, Drumcondra under the watchful eye of Fintan Harvey and Andrew Gilmore. Being the lover of comedy that I am, I managed to blag myself in to the gig to review it and see what it was all about. I had never been to Quinns before. I must admit the set up was very impressive. I was unsure whether having a comedy club in an actual pub would work (maybe I am too used to going to established comedy clubs?) but I must admit, it worked really well. The room was very nicely laid out and was a decent size with a stage and everything! Oscar Predictions: Best Actor*   I write this post today in the knowledge that the Academy has yet again made a dumbfounding decision to leave Senna out of the long list for nominations for Best Documentary ahead of next year’s ceremony. With this in mind, it leads me to believe there will be no real surprises from the Awards next year. This has been stressed before, this blog series is to prove just how predictable, and on occasion ridiculously wrong, the Academy can be and this week I barely needed to set that up. They have, in one fell swoop, alienated film lovers the world over by leaving out possibly one of the finest documentaries I have ever seen. The Gala Final Night of Jarlath Regan’s Backroad Comedy Show takes place at Whelan’s of Wexford Street on Saturday December 3rd. Featuring Jarlath Regan and some of his best comedy friends, you can expect a one-off night of high quality comedy, surprises and music from the man behind the best-selling book ‘How To Break Bad News’.
