Molson Canadian Rocks Out with 10,000 MP3 Giveaway

Earlier this year Canada’s most iconic lager Molson Canadian arrived on Irish shores to great acclaim, and now we’re being introduced to two of the countries freshest musical exports in the form of a free 10,000 MP3 Facebook giveaway from July Talk and Wildfire.

From today, anyone who ‘likes’ the Molson Coors Facebook page can redeem a free track from either band directly on the page, on a first come, first served basis.

Commenting on the promotion, Denise Catney, brand manager for Molson Canadian in Ireland said, “We’re delighted to be offering free Canadian music to Irish fans of Molson Canadian. The Irish share a lot of similarities with Canadians. Aside from having a mutual love of beer, we love taking to the great outdoors with our friends and a mutual love of great music is a central component of our DNA.”

July Talk: Formed in 2012 in Toronto, the primary pair behind July Talk (Peter Dreimanis and Leah Fay) have already established their own sonancy: a sound rooted in roots and Americana with the dual-voice charm of Johnny and June, the creepy quirkiness of Tom Waits, and the hooks of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. It’s a very unique blend that borrows from different decades and domains, though where those influences begin and end is cleverly disguised.

Commenting on the track, Denise Catney, said, “Paper Girl is a brilliant track. The sweet charm of the female vocal melody and timbre plays so well against the really gruff, Tom Waits-style vocal of Peter Dreimanis. The interplay of both makes for a really dynamic and interesting song. And it’s damn catch too. We’re delighted to be bringing the track to our Irish Facebook fans!”

Wildlife

Wildlife is five friends from around Ontario who got together through the mutual desire to simply make great music. They stand apart from so many of Toronto’s bands because their music is loud yet so heart-felt, and is distinct for its punk-tinged ferocity and truly unique melodies.

Denise Catney said, “I think our Irish Facebook fans will love ‘Born To Ruin’. The track has some similarities to Arcade Fire, another great Canadian band that has found a legion of devoted Irish fans. With tracks like this one, I’m sure it won’t be long before Wildlife has a similar group of adoring Irish fans.”
