Events: The Chalk & Cheese Tour with Eric Lalor and Gearoid Farrelly

Friday the 4th November sees Eric returning to his home ground of the Axis in Ballymun, bringing with him Gearoid Farrelly. Eric has recently returned from a massively succesful Edinburgh trip and also just did his first ever solo show in the Sugar Club which was a massive hit. Gearoid has recently finished gigs in Whelan’s and various other venues around the country. Now while one cannot disagree that both men are very funny, they couldn’t be more different if they tried! On this tour they will fight about everything from music to what each other are wearing on stage. The only thing they can agree on is the audience will have a great night of comedy. This promises to be an exciting and slightly mental night of comedy. Two headliners for the price of one! What more do you want? I urge you to go and find out why … There’s more

Competition Closed: Another chance to catch the wonderful Little Gem

*** Competition Closed *** *** Congratulations to Padraig *** ** Thank you to everyone who entered ** A couple of months ago I went to see Little Gem in the Peacock Stage at the Abbey Theatre. It’s truly one of the best things I’ve seen on stage in years; moving, funny and very clever. Though tight, smart and brilliantly staged, it’s one of the most accessible Irish plays I’ve seen in some time. Well, I’m happy to report that it’s now visiting the Axis Theatre in Ballymun from 23rd to 27th March. I urge you to see this wonderful Irish play. If you would like to go along to see Little Gem in the Axis on Saturday 27th … There’s more

Competition: Welcome to the House of Fun, Ardal O’Hanlon

** And the winners, as selected by some random girl I found, are as follows:** Mr. Travors and Joe Reynolds ** Congrats to Joe and Travors who have won a pair of tickets each to ** ** Ardal O’Hanlon, presented by The House of Fun at the Axis Theatre ** Despite the many stand up comedy gigs I’ve been to over the years, I’ve never been lucky enough to catch Ardal O’Hanlon. This is something I plan to rectify next weekend when the star of new film Wide Open Spaces, TV’s My Hero and a little known comedy show about priests, comes to the Axis Theatre in Ballymun. The House of Fun present Ardal O’Hanlon who will bring his own brand of intelligent, dry, deadpan comedy to the Axis on 21st August at 8pm. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing him outside of my tellybox and being himself. … There’s more
