Casablanca classic

Last night I had the great pleasure of seeing Casablanca on the big screen, in The Screen cinema on D’Olier Street. Set during World War II, it focuses on a man torn between, in the words of one character, love and virtue. He must choose between his love for a woman and helping her and her Resistance leader husband escape from the Vichy-controlled Moroccan city of Casablanca to continue his fight against the Nazis. You really have got to give this guy major brownie points for the sheer effort he went to for the love of his life A romantic hires out a Bristol cinema to screen his spoof music video, featuring him mainly wearing pants, as part of an elaborate marriage proposal to his girlfriend. Pete Simson, 26, told girlfriend Hannah McDonagh, 25, that they were going to watch an arty French film at the Watershed cinema in Bristol for her birthday last Friday.
