Urban Circus comes to Dublin

Roll Up, Roll Up the Urban Circus is coming to Dublin! As part of the Dublin City Council Summer in Dublin programme of events, the Urban Circus is coming to Dublin on Saturday 1 August next. The Circus will take place in Wolfe Tone Park, Jervis Street, Dublin 1 from 12.00 til 19.00. There will be a host of entertaining acts and walkabout performers including: Northern Ireland’s wacky Barren Carousel Aerial Troupe who will amaze you with their bandwagon of circus antics and death defying aerial feats. The highly original, funny and energetic show ‘Yodel’ where contemporary circus meets traditional alpine culture in a splendid display of stupidity performed by Colm O’Grady will charm audiences of all ages. Renowned performer Johnny D’Juggler will M.C. the event whilst juggling and performing and The Other Brothers will offer a unique brand of comedy in the form of escapology, magic and unbelievable stunts!

Not Very Amusing

As one reviewer said “Amusement might end up being the most ironic title of the year, because there’s absolutely nothing amusing about it.” As Darren put it, it’s Scream, without the irony. The acting is poor. The story line flimsy. The characters badly conceived but I won’t say it’s all bad. It is wrought with 80′s horror cliches and embraces the lighter-hearted horror formula which works out well for those of us who can’t stomach the gore of New Horror like Saw and Hostel. It’s really only worth watching for one scene, this one.
