Micheál ó Domhnaill was a traditional Irish musician and singer who grew up in co. Meath and Dublin, whose parents were originally from the west of Ireland. His father from The Rosses in co. Donegal and his mother having family from counties Cork and Sligo. His sisters Maighread and Tríona are well known singers in the tradition as well. Micheál, who was part of the traditional groups Skara Brae, The Bothy Band and Relativity, recorded and played with many other traditional musicians, suffered a tragic and sudden death in July of 2006.
