Competition Closed: Bill Coleman, New Album, Unique Artwork

Bill Coleman is a Cork musician determined to do things for himself. A prolific writer he’s self-releasing his second album “You Can’t buy Back Your Life” today and we’ve got 3 copies to give away to you lucky Culch readers! Coleman decided to forgo the traditional label route and produce a limited edition run of 2,000 CDs with handmade artwork. The result is that each CD is completely unique. Check out the nifty video below which will give you a taste of Coleman’s musical style and which compresses the artwork creation process into 3-and-a-bit minutes. New Releases Windsor for the Derby exist “in a world of slow movements” and “represent slow music”. I don’t know what that means but I swear to God that’s what they say in the press release. They even put the slow in quotation marks. Maybe they play all their songs at half speed, maybe they take a while to grow on you or maybe they just aren’t that bright, you can decide which kind of “slow” they are when they release new album ‘Against Love’ on June 18th. Here We Go Magic were formed “through a series of chance encounters, overheard conversations and supernatural occurrences.” Their first release was a “collection of unique 4-track recordings” and they have developed “an explosive live sound all of their own.” Honestly of those last two sentences I find the one that contains “supernatural occurrences” easier to believe but we’ll find out when ‘Pigeons’ … There’s more

New Releases M.I.A will release her new album ‘/\/\/\Y/\’ in Ireland on the 9th of July, and no that’s not some weird glitch on Culch.ie the album is actually titled ‘/\/\/\Y/\’. In another seemingly random amalgamation of letters and symbols XXXO will be the first single. http://www.miauk.com/ Thought you had heard the last of Oasis? Not by a long shot. They are releasing a new singles collection on the 11th of June. ‘Time Flies… 1994-2009’ features all of the band’s singles.
